Start in the beginning of the year. I think all seniors are excited to apply to colleges in the beginning of the year, but once they actually get on the application and see how much they have to do , they get overwhelmed and never look at the application again until the day of the deadline. The worst part of the application for me is the essays. The Common App gives you five essay prompts, but it just feels like I could write about so many things. Once you do find a topic, the next hard part is figuring out how to deliver your message. For example, my topic is catching the bus to (sometimes) and from school each day. I could o many ways with this topic.
1. highlight incidents of bus and the qualities I have learned from each incident
alarm went off at 5, fell back asleep, late to track meet - self motivation
make quick decisions- in Wawa while on way to bus stop , need to get in and get out because i don;t have time to ponder over what to get
be realistic- check bus and its coming in 5 minutes, im not going to try to run to the bus stop, im not gonna make it
think ahead- if i catch the bus home now , i'll have to catch right back , so i might as well stay here
plan ahead- if i have practice to be at i need to plan for it the night before because i wont have time to get in done in the morning
2. talk about differences between cities as I'm riding bus and go down urban planning route
